About Me

Brendan Morrison

Brendan Morrison

Brendan’s solo acoustic adventure started in 2017. It began as a result of feeling lost as a young person in a new city trying to find their place in the world. Fortunately, after a long conversation with a close friend he had an epiphany. He still wanted to be a career musician. He had come so close as the frontman of post-hardcore outfit We Cry Mercy (playing the Vans Warped Tour in 2012 then disbanding shortly thereafter). It was still his biggest “what-if”, so he picked up his guitar (motivated by his desire to live without that looming regret) and began writing again.

Since then, Brendan has been writing and putting out songs periodically. They’re based on the experiences and feelings of a person in their mid-20’s trying to navigate life. Topics range from:

  • Disregarding societal expectations and taking control of your life
  • Overcoming self-doubt
  • Trying to find your place in the world
  • Mental health (hoping to help anyone going through something similar to let them know they’re not alone)
  • And love songs (Emo doesn’t have to be sad)

Brendan’s songs are lyrically driven and passionate. He cites Dashboard Confessional, Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, and Into It. Over his biggest influences.
